Carrying out the speed towards the end-on the buy, use and maintenance of solid state drives2014-08-

I've been in get in touch with together with the computer due to the fact 2000. Though it is not a fever, it is actually still a bit of research. Commonly, my friends and loved ones will locate me to help install the laptop or computer. Looking back now, I spent quite a bit of money on it. Generally, I want to upgrade my personal computer virtually every year plus a half. The solid state tough disk was contacted in 2011. You will find no less than ten strong state models which have been bought and utilized so far. I'm here to share my practical experience with you.

I'll keep away from some specialist vocabulary right here and use typical and understandable language to discuss with you

Portion 1: What exactly is a solid state drive? What exactly is a strong state drive?

Ordinarily we usually use mechanical challenging disk, that is composed of disk surface and magnetic head and other elements. It can be a physical mechanical device. The solid state hard disk, just like the U disk we usually use, is composed of a flash memory chip plus a key control and a cache. The distinction from a USB flash drive is that USB flash drives normally only use one particular or two flash memory chips, and also the reading and writing are usually concentrated on it, so the USB flash drive life isn't pretty extended, specially once you invest in low-quality products; and there are lots of flash drives on SSD The chip, evenly distributes the information to every flash memory, the life expectancy will be a lot longer than the U disk.

Solid-state drives are normally two.5-inch, which can be the size of a notebook hard drive, which can be 7mm thick and 9MM thick (notebook pals who install strong state should really pay focus); Furthermore, there are actually MSATA and PCI-E interfaces.

Second, solid state challenging drives are a lot more high-priced than mechanical difficult drives, what will be the benefits, why need to you obtain

Just said that a mechanical hard disk is really a mechanical device, that is composed of one particular or several disks. Just just like the old record, the disk is rotating at higher speed at any time. You've to read the data at a specific position, and the magnetic head ought to move to Location. The solid-state tough disk has no mechanical components and is all electronic. When the CPU concerns instructions, it requires to fetch information at an address, as well as the key manage can straight attain an address. That is a lot more obvious, the greatest benefit of solid state drives is the fact that they do not have to have to seek. When it comes to continuous study and create performance, the existing mainstream solid-state tough drives have reached greater than 500M, which is also unmatched by mechanical hard drives. Also, the strong state has virtually no noise, and its energy consumption is a great deal reduce than that of mechanical really hard drives.

The main distinction after changing the SSD is:

Switching time is faster.

Irrespective of how much software program and games you have installed, you may use it soon after entering the desktop. The mechanical really hard drive will take a whilst to utilize.

The installation and operation with the computer software is faster, specifically for buddies that are engaged in improvement. Quite a few softwares come out quickly right after double-clicking, plus the mechanical tough drive has to wait a lengthy time. I'm not employed to the mechanical really hard drive when I go to repair the computer system.

The game can also be smoother. Entering the game and loading the progress bar are considerably quicker.

System scoring, application running score is much more (zhuang) greater (bi).

three. I do not understand strong state. Why does Baidu look for numerous shortcomings of strong state?

Several of those articles are in fact early. At that time, the solid-state technology was not great. It is actually inevitable that several 'old school' be concerned that the solid-state tough disk may have a short life span like a USB flash drive and information is simple to lose. Not as fantastic because the evaluation benefits of high-end mechanical hard drives.

Concerning lifespan, I don't consider there is certainly any want to worry about it now. Judging from what I've employed, the solid state challenging drive can completely attain the life on the mechanical really hard drive below normal use and maintenance. You will find also a number of institutions which have tested and analyzed the life of SSDs, and also the outcomes are constant with what I think.

Data is easy to drop. This is mainly because a lot of solid-states have large-capacity DDR caches. This cache is like memory, as well as the information in it's going to disappear immediately after energy is turned off. The cached solid state might be written to the high-speed DDR cache very first when data is written, after which written into the flash memory. If there's a energy failure ahead of writing towards the flash memory, this component in the information will indeed be lost, however the probability can also be quite low , I have not encountered it after.

Let flash drive file recovery software show you the circumstance of your strong state I bought ahead of:

As shown above, INTEL strong state was purchased in early 2011, and Magnesium strong state was purchased in early 2012. Now it has been operating for almost ten,000 hours.

Making use of the INTEL solid-state toolbox to test, the life continues to be 99%, and there is no apparent modify in efficiency.

The Samsung 830 above is utilized on my WindowsNAS and server. The operating time is close to 20,000 hours. You can find nonetheless no complications and the efficiency is very stable.

The second part: ways to have a look at the parameters on the solid-state drive 1. Brand: For new friends, I feel the brand would be the most worthy of consideration. Good brands have stronger R \u0026 D capabilities, master handle and flash memory chip technologies are far more mature, and after-sales capabilities are stronger. By way of example, INTEL, 5 years of global warranty and sturdy efficiency, this really is incomparable to numerous little brands. At present, brands with independent analysis and improvement capabilities are: INTEL, Magnesium, Samsung and so on.

Second, the main handle: the principle handle is equivalent to the CPU within a personal computer, the principle control to inform the truth for our ordinary users, there is not substantially to understand. At present, it is actually to take a look at the data published by the manufacturer, compare the actual overall performance, listen towards the feedback of other close friends, and so on. Now probably the most prevalent sort of solid-state news and evaluation on quite a few internet sites would be the war of words in the master handle. You can just watch it. At present, the additional typical master brands are:

Sandforce series, INTEL and other mid-to-high-end products are usually used, relatively stable, and sturdy performance.

Samsung MDX, MEX series: Samsung's independent research and improvement in the primary handle, currently Samsung solid state is in use, has the ability to play TLC flash memory to SLC efficiency, it seems that Samsung's main manage is still pretty dependable.

JMF master control: generally seen within the low-end strong state, JMF is also a single on the old master control producers, cost-effective. Judging from the current information, the solid state functionality of GALAX and also other brands using JMF master control is within the middle position, which can be not as well negative. This master control is presently particularly unobtrusive in the eyes of lots of netizens.

Marvell master: relatively stable, a lot of netizens even call it 'server-level', and quite a few high-end solid-state solutions also use this master control.

Third, flash memory: We usually know that by deciding upon a USB flash drive. With regards to efficiency and life, the second is TLC, then the MLC, along with the most effective is SLC. At present, there are many solid-state hard drives using MLC flash chips. The flash memory form solution is normally indicated (the majority of them aren't TLC), it can be finest to select the solid state working with MLC and SLC chips, don't use the strong state of TLC.

At present, you will discover the following mainstream flash memory particles: INTEL, Magnesium, Toshiba, Samsung, and so on. The top quality of flash memory straight impacts the life and functionality of the complete solid state drive. Flash particles in the identical brand also have positive aspects and disadvantages, so we can only check out the top quality of flash particles from the actual functionality of strong state drives.

Four, interface variety:

IDE: The tough disk interface common to old computer systems within the past is appropriate for friends who do not upgrade the entire machine and only practical experience strong state. On the other hand, as a consequence of the IDE interface, the performance with the IED SSD is very poor, plus the improvement after replacement just isn't too apparent. Note that the IDE interface of old notebooks and desktops is unique, please confirm prior to purchasing.

SATA: One of the most frequently utilized interface at present. The existing mainstream solid state drives are all SATA3.0, and also the read and write speed can reach 550MB / S. Obviously, SATA is backward compatible. If your motherboard features a SATA2.0 interface, you are able to nevertheless invest in a SATA3.0 strong state drive, however the speed can only attain the speed of SATA2.0.

MSATA: Now quite a few new notebook and desktop motherboards have reserved MSATA ports, that are handy for users to set up strong state drives, network cards along with other devices.

PCI-E: Limited by the current SATA3.0 speed, the present SATA solid-state challenging disk can only reach a maximum speed of about 550MB / s, but for other applications with higher specifications, this speed is not enough, so there is The solid-state hard drive with PCI-E interface is just that the price of such solid-state hard drive is fairly high, which is presently complicated for ordinary users to accept.

5: Size: At present, the much more typical solid-state drives are all 2.5-inch. Note that you'll find 7MM and 9MM. In case your notebook is 7MM, then you ca n’t purchase 9MM. You ought to spend attention just before shopping for.

Six: Reading and writing speed: The fastest continuous reading and writing speed which can be accomplished in theory.

Seven: Cache: There's typically a cache chip on the mechanical really hard disk and the solid-state difficult disk, the part should be to offer high-speed buffer when reading and writing. In theory, the bigger the cache capacity, the stronger the performance? That is correct for mechanical challenging drives, but for solid state drives, I believe it can be ignored. The overall performance of solid-state drives mainly depends on the primary manage and flash memory particles. If the study and create speeds themselves are very slow, what's the usage of giving you a larger cache? At present, there are plenty of solid-states which might be not cached. The data is directly read and written devoid of the cache, plus the overall performance can also be superb. When obtaining, let's focus on the general efficiency.

Seven: Random study and create rate IOPS: The amount of read and create operations per second. This is the most critical parameter to measure the functionality of strong state drives. The larger the value, the better.

Component III: How to invest in a solid-state hard drive 1. When getting, you should possess a particular understanding on the brand, after-sales, main manage in the solid-state difficult drive, and flash memory chip. .

Second, opt for the appropriate size and interface variety, see the second portion in the parameter introduction. It's finest to choose a metal shell. Some manufacturers use plastic shells to save fees. Despite the fact that the effect is not substantial, the metal shell can correctly stop electromagnetic interference.

3. Pay consideration to the balance in between value and functionality. When the spending budget is sufficient, it is actually advisable to choose high-performance goods; in the event the spending budget is insufficient, it can be suggested to decide on high-cost merchandise. Tips on how to select the functionality please look down:

Fourth, opt for the acceptable capacity, I will give you a suggestion according to expertise:

60-64G: Do not play games, only made use of to install the technique and some typical software program (not adequate? Introduced beneath).

120-128G: Employed to install the technique and a few normally employed application, and occasionally play games (when there's not sufficient space in between the mechanical challenging drives).

240-256G: Set up the program and software, and usually play various various games (the truth is, 256G is still not enough for present games)

512G: Invest in it if you need to have it.

Along with selecting capacity, we will have to pay attention to speed. At present, the difficult disk with all the similar model and also the exact same brand and the bigger capacity is faster.

5. Overall performance initially. If it's not for functionality, there's no need to spend far more for SSDs. Here can be a brief introduction to the performance of SSD:

Continuous read and create speed: SATA3.0 is quite good at about 500M. It doesn't matter if it really is reduced, right after all, the difficult disk capacity is so massive. By way of example: the distinction in between 500M and 400MB / s. To copy a 5G substantial file, in theory, a 500M / s hard drive takes ten seconds, as well as a 450M / s difficult drive requires 11.1 seconds. This difference in seconds will not make a lot sense to most of the people.

4K performance, this really is by far the most vital, this can be the value in the existence of strong state drives, and 4K performance in 4K functionality is a lot more important. Below the SATA3.0 native interface, the present 4K read speed of medium and high-end strong state drives is above 30MB / S, the 4K write speed is above 100MB / S, and the random read and create price is above 80,000 IOPS. The 4K reading speed in the low-end solid-state hard disk need to also be about 20MB, plus the 4K writing speed should reach more than 50MB / S. If it is as well low, do not think about it. The 4K study / write speed of mechanical really hard drives cannot even attain 1MB / S, which can be the biggest advantage of strong state drives. As shown in the figure above, we are able to use the test outcomes of AsSSDBenchmark to assessment the overall performance of a strong state drive.

Some merchants of this rating sheet will post inside the solution introduction as publicity (note that there is some moisture), if not, it's essential to refer to the evaluation final results on the user's sun list.

V. Summary: At present, the marketplace for SSDs is extremely deep, so we ought to spend interest to selection. Attempt to pick out a regular brand, and avoid purchasing low-quality solid-state challenging disks like white tablets at low prices; pay attention towards the kind of flash memory employed for this strong state when getting, very first refer for the buyer's list, and possess a certain understanding with the common functionality; then evaluate other Brand performance and price tag.

Here I propose a solid-state difficult drive that I like extremely a great deal and cost-effective:

PLEXTOR M6S

Element four: Use and upkeep of strong state drives 1. When installing strong state drives, make sure to plug the information cable in to the native SATA interface to maximize performance

A buddy of mine, used a strong state for any year. I asked him how, but he said practically nothing. Later, I took it apart: ASRock Z77 motherboard, he plugged within the third-party SATA3.0 port.

Typically, the very first SATA3.0 port on the motherboard would be the native sata interface (please refer for the manual for unique situations). Some motherboards also have sata2.0 interfaces in addition to sata3.0, which has to be appropriately connected in the course of installation. Overall performance will probably be a great deal worse.

Second, use high-quality SATA information cable

The SATA information cable is frequently incorporated with the motherboard. Some smaller makers offer particularly poor excellent information. It's recommended to purchase a high-quality sata3.0 information cable. The high-quality information cable connector is additional steady and sturdy. The cable also has an aluminum shield. A number of years ago I had a challenging disk since the data cable connector was also bad and was burnt out.

3. The first step following installing the difficult disk: verify regardless of whether to enable AHCI mode.

Now most motherboards default to AHCI mode, but some pals nevertheless use IDE mode, Khan one particular. You need to use AHCI mode to achieve the maximum efficiency in the SATA interface. The method of opening is frequently to enter the BIOS, come across the IntegratedPeripherals alternative, and set SATARAID / AHCIMode to AHCI. Diverse motherboards may perhaps show diverse settings, please refer towards the instruction manual. Note that immediately after the IDE mode is changed to AHCI mode, the original method might not be in a position to enter, it is advised to reinstall the technique.

Fourth, the second step right after installing the tough disk: confirm whether to partition and do partition alignment

Partition misalignment is also one particular on the culprits that affect the performance of SSDs. If you plan to partition the tough drive, you will need to pay interest to partition alignment. Mates who usually do not partition really should bypass this step. You'll find the following procedures for partition alignment:

1. Make use of the existing win7 and win8 systems for partitioning, any division is ok, along with the division is within the state of partition alignment soon after division. Press Win + R, enter compmgmt.msc to confirm, after which click Disk Management.

two. Make a PE boot disk like old Maotao and partition it with diskgenius. Right after entering diskgenius, pick the solid-state hard disk you wish to partition, click New Partition, then as shown within the figure, check 'Align for the complete quantity on the following sectors

'Multiple times', and after that select 2048 below. Note that every zone has to be checked!

three. Tips on how to detect irrespective of whether the partition is aligned? The OK shown inside the red box in the following figure indicates that AHCI is turned on and the partitions are aligned:

5. Is it superior to partition or not? Just how much is it?

It can be suggested not to partition the SSD below 1.64G. Certainly, it may be partitioned. Don't forget to align the partition. I've a NAS that's 64G strong state, divided into two places, a single area with 40G installed system, and 1 area with 20G installed software. In actual fact, I personally feel that the program partition shouldn't be also significant. One example is, I only divided 20G within the XP era and 40G in the win7win8 era, then allocated virtual memory and short-term files and cache to an additional area of the SSD. The benefit of this really is that the C drive is modest, uncomplicated to handle and backup. Obviously, mates who ordinarily create the following installation habit are nevertheless superior, otherwise 40G will burst. As shown within the figure, in fact, the win8 program is divided into 42G, which is only about 20G, primarily due to the fact I have installed VisulStudio2013 and OFFICE2013 now.

two.128G strong state and above is recommended to be divided into an independent system location, that is handy for backup and management. You should squeeze games, application and windows around the C drive, it isn't hassle-free to backup and reinstall something. If divided into two regions, reinstallation and restoration following system crash will not have an effect on other information. As for the partition size, I assume that people like me who keep fantastic habits, cache, temporary files, virtual memory are certainly not inside the system disk, computer software and games usually are not installed in the system disk, C disk is about 40G; and like to put the computer software together Buddies installed within the C drive, it really is advised to divide more than 60G. The 128G solid state is full with just two games, we ca n’t assist it. By way of example, when playing Large Pineapple, move the Elder Scrolls towards the mechanical hard drive. After playing the Elder Scrolls, move the Massive Pineapple towards the mechanical tough drives and move the Elder Scrolls back for the SSD.

Cramming software, games, cache, etc. below a single disk is also very messy. You may make separate folders for games, computer software, and cache, and then categorize them separately.

Moreover, high-definition films do not require to become specially saved around the solid state tough disk to watch, it really is adequate on the mechanical challenging disk.

6. What program really should be installed?

For solid-state drives, systems with win7 and win8 and server2008R2 or greater are sufficient. XP mostly doesn't help TRIM. Win7 and Win8 are optimized for strong state drives. Though many people in XP have created a mandatory TRIM tool, many people have tested that there's no trustworthy system that supports TRIM natively.

The installation technique is the similar because the ordinary mechanical really hard disk, which may be installed by CD or GHOST, so I won't repeat them here.

7. The very first point right after installing the technique: running points to find out if the merchants pit me

Just after installing the program, set up the drivers for the motherboard, graphics card as well as other devices, then run AsSSDBenchmark to determine if it is actually incredibly distinct from the publicity data? Massive deviations indicate some difficulties. As an example, what I mentioned prior to: Is AHCI enabled? Will be the partition aligned? Is it plugged in to the motherboard's native SATA3.0 interface? At this time you are able to verify item by item.

eight. Optimization of SSD

1. Check if there's any particular optimization tool for the solid state drive you purchased, and install it if there's one particular. Commonly it's handy to check the status from the hard disk, and there's also a somewhat basic optimization wizard. As an example, INTEL has SSDTOOLBOX, execute INTELSSDOptimizer to produce the SSD function in the finest condition.

2. If there isn't any special optimization tool, let's optimize it manually: (Note: Numerous magazines and tutorials will mention a variety of SSD optimization solutions, but several are absolutely misleading, as well as worse after the optimization, so I (Here we also find out the anti-optimization)

Verify if TRIM is turned on (essential): This function is really turned on by default, but some systems, you know ... Under Win7, click Start-Programs-Accessories, right click on 'Command Prompt', ' 'Run as administrator'; under win8, press win + X, then select 'Command Prompt (Administrator)', enter fsutilbehaviorQUERYDisableDeleteNotify at the command prompt, press Enter, when the returned worth is DisableDeleteNotify = 0, it implies TRIM is turned on; when the return worth = 1, it implies that TRIM will not be activated, if it's not activated, enter fsutilbehaviorsetdisabledeletenotify0 Enter to activate.

Turn off Prefetch and Superfetch and indexes ?: Quite a few tutorials recommend what to accomplish. They feel that the solid state drive is quick sufficient. Turning on prefetch will impact functionality and life. It truly is truly misleading. Immediately after the entire is closed, it is going to possess a wonderful influence on the performance in the mechanical tough disk, and can also possess a particular influence around the strong state really hard disk. In fact, we only have to have to turn off the index on the SSD partition, since the SSD hardly has time to seek. As shown in the figure, right-click the SSD partition, select 'Properties', cancel the bottom 'except the file properties ...'

Turn off defragmentation? : The principles of solid state drives and mechanical really hard drives are distinct. Just after defragmentation, solid state drives can have an effect on overall performance. There are lots of magazines and tutorials that guide customers to manually turn off these attributes. Actually, this can be also misleading. Below win8, initial pick a solid-state difficult drive partition, right-click, choose 'Properties', after which click 'Tools' --- 'Optimization', the automatic optimization selection of all partitions is turned on by default? Is win7win8 not optimized for strong state drives? Is there such a low-level error?

The truth is, the optimization here is essential. This optimization is just not 'disk defragmentation', but a series of commands executed together with the TRIM instruction. You do n’t have to worry about defragmenting the disk automatically.

Then beneath win7, very first choose an SSD partition, right-click, pick 'Properties', and after that click 'Tools' --- 'Defragment Now', you will find how many fragments the SSD can analyze The scheduled activity is enabled by default ... Even so, for those who look down and pick the disk that requirements to be organized within the scheduled activity, you might discover that the SSD won't seem inside the list ...

Thus, regardless of irrespective of whether it's win7 or win8, the disk defragmentation will not need to be regarded as at all, along with the default may be the same. Right after forcibly closing, it'll turn out to be 'anti-optimization' as an alternative.

Don't set temporary files, virtual memory, IE cache, and so on. to the SSD? Lots of people recommend this, since the temporary files and IE cache ought to read and write challenging drives often, that will seriously impact the life of your strong state drive. That is essentially the most silly optimization suggestion I have ever noticed. What does a strong state drive do? The advantage is the fact that these fragmented files are processed frequently and swiftly. Consequently, I recommend setting the short-term cache of all software, program temporary files, and IE browser cache on the SSD. Certainly, in the event the memory is big adequate, generating RAMDISK in a element, and then placing the IE cache in RAMDISK may be the greatest of both worlds.

SSD maintenance

As a way to extend the service life in the SSD and maximize the efficiency, the usual upkeep can also be essential.

Use win7win8 and newer systems, usually do not use XP systems that usually do not help TRIM.

As well as the life with the standard power-on time, the solid-state hard disk also has a lifespan that is determined by the amount of writes. Right after reaching a particular amount of writes, the flash memory chip ought to be dead. So do n’t regularly use test application to measure the speed of operating points (a friend of mine runs a number of times each day to be enjoyable), do n’t download BT and PT frequently (no challenge with everyday use, like the following two movies every day) Massive BT, PT along with other P2P computer software memory cache.

Don't attempt to defragment the SSD.

Partitions require to reserve a certain quantity of absolutely free space, for instance, 10% is reserved, too full will have an effect on read and write efficiency (some strong state drives do not have this trouble).

Verify consistently for new firmware downloads. New firmware frequently fixes previous complications and has far better performance. (It truly is recommended to connect the UPS power provide when updating the firmware, just in case)

Just after working with it for a time frame (ordinarily about two years, depending on your frequency of use), some SSDs will have quite a bit of overall performance degradation challenges. At this time, it might only be solved by erasing the entire disk after. Full disk erase will delete all data and can't be recovered. If there's a system, it is possible to GHOST the system disk for the mechanical challenging disk, after which back up right after erasing.

There are normally full disk erasing tools in the tools supporting solid state drives. Note that the solid state running the system can not be erased under windows. The option is:

①. Use U disk or mechanical really hard disk to produce a method temporarily. The strong state is set as a non-boot disk. Soon after backing up the information, it is possible to make use of the 'Safe Erase' tool within the solid-state hard disk supporting tool to erase it all. If there isn't any supporting tool, you could make use of the SolidStateDoctor tool to erase. Ways to use: Very first choose a strong state drive, then click the drive tool icon, after which click the safe erase icon.

②. Be a DOS boot disk, also inside the old Maotao boot disk, use the HDDErase tool to erase the whole disk. Note that this tool is not pretty superior for some new motherboards. I tested it on my computer. Even if file recovery usb drive is set to IDE and compatibility mode, my hard drive cannot be recognized. I've to provide it. Friends who're interested can try it by themselves. Make use of the very first process. In my other poster, my Magnesium m4 solid state drive has been utilised for more than 2 years, as well as the write input is only 164MB / s, which can reach 200M / s following a full disk erase.

Note that do not regularly erase the complete disk, and only carry out it as soon as when the performance is severely degraded.

7. When there is a substantial amount of information, please carry out formatting, partitioning and other operations in the Windows program, don't carry out in other systems!

By way of example, some time ago I just bought a new strong state. The old strong state is 128G, divided into two areas. After the new strong state is obtainable, I would like to merge the old strong state into one zone (the old strong state is just about complete of data). When doing the method, I re-divided the old strong state into a zone with diskgenius under PE. Because of this, just after installing the program, it was discovered that the new strong state is typical, along with the overall performance on the old solid state 4K is only 10M / S, and the create is significantly less than 100M / s. It truly is useless just after formatting, and it truly is useless to take away it and install it on yet another machine. Later, a complete disk erase was performed to restore the original speed!

Why, the truth is, the principle is quite straightforward: when the operating system wants to delete the contents from the difficult disk, it isn't basically deleted, however the location is marked as empty, along with the empty position are going to be overwritten when new information is written. But flash memory does not function. Overwriting is just not allowed and must be erased initially. I am performing a format operation on a PE program that does not support TRIM. I've to execute an erase operation prior to writing information. So right here you understand the value of TRIM, if it is formatted below the windows method, then the technique will send the TRIM command towards the tough disk, telling the tough disk which locations can be erased, and after that erase it when it can be idle. The erase operation is omitted through the second create.

eight. Adequately setup and use, extend the life of big capacity mechanical tough disk.

I think several buddies are like me. The system, computer software, and games are all installed inside the solid-state tough drive; there have to be a large-capacity mechanical hard drive for saving high-definition motion pictures, Blu-ray ISO. Every person knows the principle of mechanical difficult drives, so long as they may be turned on, they may be consistently spinning, and often we are all utilizing points within the strong state, and mechanical challenging drives usually do not have to have to become back to get a few days. Why not stop him?

Very first make the following settings:

Set virtual memory, short-term files, IE cache, and short-term directories of all application towards the solid-state hard disk to stop them from reading the mechanical tough disk.

Enter the control panel, click Method and Safety, and enter the 'Power Options'. Needless to say, it could also be accessed from the screen saver settings. Change the plan settings just after your present energy strategy, as shown within the figure

Then click 'Change Advanced Energy Settings', as shown within the figure, set the time to turn off the tough disk to five minutes and even 2 minutes.

After setting, the mechanical really hard disk will promptly stop soon after no reading and writing operations, which achieves the goal of extending life. The strong state really hard disk using the method just isn't affected. As for why not make use of the program default 20 minutes? Leave it to everyone to believe for themselves.

Properly, I'll write it right here today, I hope it'll be helpful to every person, and if there's anything wrong, please criticize and right me. I will add it later if there is certainly anything to add.
